Kazu Shima, Lead Carpenter
I began my construction career ten years ago straight out of high school. I joined Building Science without any knowledge or any understanding of how residential construction works.
The team embraced my willingness with opportunities to learn and expand my building skills.
After a while, I left to chase the dream of being a dedicated carpenter. However, found myself jumping around with different companies, contractors and management styles.
Each move along the way I was able to pick up and retain some diverse and useful skills.
Several years later I’m back to where it all started. I rejoined Building Science hoping to bring what I’ve learned over my short career back into the company that gave me my start.
My boss says, I have always been a good fit because my values match the core building Science company beliefs.
Being driven by the pride I take in my work and my commitment to bettering myself every day, I hope to be an asset to Building Science. I look forward to taking part in building quality, long lasting homes with my team and advancing my career right where I’m at.
I love that I have been given the platform to fill my aspirations by serving others.
